There are times we build our entire day or week around an appointment that might be many hours away and maybe we actually had to fly there.  How do you reduce the chances of showing up and no one else does?  We've all had that feeling, the pit in our stomach that says... OH NO!  Here is a list of things you can do to reduce the chances of that actually happening!1)  Set the appointment at their office  2)  Confirm their address or the address you're meeting  3)  Send an electronic calendar invite and include your cell phone, email and an agenda  4)  At the time of the appointment ask for their commitment  5)  Make sure they have your contact information  6)  Ask them for a place that might be more convenient for them - allow them to choose the place and time  7)  Clear the deck of competition if it's relevant  8)  Give them a compelling reason to attend  9)  Send them an email 24 to 48 hours before asking if they have any specific questions they would like addressed  10)  text the end of the day before noting the meeting time and place and agenda sent in your email  11)  BE EARLY, BE SHARP, BE PREPAREDIn the long run, this is about increasing the likelihood that you're going to close the deal and WIN!!!
